Precautions For Purchasing Agricultural Tractors

Sep 25, 2024

There are three types of agricultural tractors: hand-held tractors, wheeled tractors, and tracked tractors; Tractors can be classified into large, medium, and small types based on their power.

Among them, the walking tractor is a small tractor with a power of less than 11kW (15 horsepower), mainly suitable for agricultural operations and short distance transportation operations in small fields, and is widely used in rural areas in the south.

With the needs of production, the power of tractors is increasing; Wheeled tractors are mainly used for agricultural or transportation operations in rural areas of northern China. Large wheeled tractors are suitable for large-scale agricultural production and can greatly improve production efficiency. Crawler tractors are commonly used in basic agricultural construction and water conservancy projects due to their ability to be equipped with bulldozers. All agricultural tractors are powered by diesel engines.

The following mainly introduces the most commonly used four-wheel tractor.

1. Check the appearance
The paint on the shell should be bright and uniform, without peeling or detachment, and have a smooth and flat feel The surface of the casting should be flat, without visible cracks or sand holes. The appearance of the sheet metal parts should be smooth, and the surface of the electroplated parts should be bright and free of rust The surface of the tire should be smooth, with regular patterns and no bubbles or cracks.

2. Check if the protective devices and warning signs are complete.

① Check the starting shaft head of the engine, and ensure that the end of the shaft head does not protrude from the outer plane of the engine case. To prevent danger when people approach during engine operation.
② The pulley and belt must have protective covers. To prevent danger when people approach during engine operation.
③ There should be a protective cover on the exhaust pipe. To prevent accidental contact by the operator.
④ The stairs and pedals for boarding should have anti slip mesh patterns and raised edges or blocking edges. To prevent the driver from slipping under their feet when getting on and off the car, which may cause falls and collisions.
⑤ The shaft head of the power output shaft must have a protective cover. To prevent danger when people approach during engine operation.
⑥ On operating devices with unclear direction, there should be symbols indicating the direction. To prevent misoperation.

3. Check the control mechanism
① The connection between the throttle and the lever is reliable, and there is no jamming or collision when trying to step on them.
② Push and pull the main and auxiliary transmission levers (shift rods) according to the operating procedures to confirm their reliability.
③ When the front wheels are stationary, the free rotation angle of the steering wheel should not be too large and should be less than 30 degrees.

4. Test drive
① Check the engine oil level, add diesel and cooling water.
② When the ambient temperature is above 5 ℃, start it three times in a row, and two of them should start smoothly within 30 seconds.
③ Run at medium throttle for 10 minutes, and observe that the exhaust and engine sounds should be continuous and steady.
④ After 10 minutes, reduce the throttle as much as possible and run at low speed (idle). The engine sound should be smooth.
⑤ Gradually increase the throttle, and the engine sound should also be steady. When the throttle is applied, the exhaust pipe should not emit black smoke.

5. Parking for water and oil leakage inspection
Observe that there are no dripping or flow marks on the joint surface of each rotating component. The joint surface should not be wet when touched by hand.
