Common Knowledge Of Tractor Summer Maintenance

Jul 16, 2024

Tractors are used more frequently in summer, but the weather is hot. If the tractor is not used and maintained properly, it is easy to malfunction and delay farming time. To ensure the safe operation of tractors in summer, attention should be paid to the following six aspects.

1. Avoid prolonged exposure of tractors to sunlight and rain in summer. Tractors that have not been operated or are temporarily unused should be parked in a dry, ventilated, and cool place. Otherwise, the paint surface may lose its luster, even bubble or peel off due to wind, rain, and sun exposure. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause tire aging and even rupture, shortening its service life.

2. Inflation should not be excessive. Excessive inflation of tires in summer can cause the gas to expand due to heat, leading to the rupture of the inner tube. It is best for the inflation pressure of summer tires to be lower than the specified value by 2% -3%.

3. Replace the lubricating oil in a timely manner. In summer, it is recommended to switch to diesel engine oil with higher viscosity.

4. Hot cars should not be filled with cold water. In summer, the cooling system begins to circulate forcibly during work, and the cooling water in the water cooling system is consumed quickly. During work, attention should be paid to checking the water level frequently, and if it is insufficient, clean soft water should be added in a timely manner. When the water temperature exceeds 95 degrees, the vehicle should be parked and unloaded. Do not immediately turn off the engine to stop running. The method of idling the engine can be used to cool down and prevent "boiling".

If the water tank boils or water needs to be added during the operation of the locomotive, cold water should not be added to prevent the cylinder head and cylinder liner from bursting. At this time, the operation should be stopped, and after the water temperature drops, clean soft water should be added appropriately.

5. Timely clean the cooling system to prevent water leakage. Before the arrival of summer, a thorough descaling and cleaning work should be carried out on the cooling system to ensure that the water pump, radiator, and water pipes are unobstructed and to ensure the normal circulation of cooling water. Fill the cooling system with 75-80 grams of alkaline water per liter of water, allowing the engine to run for 10 hours without releasing any water, and rinse thoroughly with clean soft water. In addition, promptly remove any weeds adhering to the surface of the radiator.

Water leakage in the cooling system will continuously reduce the amount of water, resulting in frequent water addition, increased fouling, rapid temperature rise, decreased heat dissipation effect, and shortened service life. Water leakage usually occurs at the shaft sleeve of the water pump. At this time, the water seal tightening nut can be tightened appropriately. If it is ineffective, it should be replaced in a timely manner.

6. Keep the battery vent unobstructed. Universal batteries generate hydrogen or oxygen gas during use, which expands at high temperatures. If the vent hole is blocked, it can cause the battery to rupture, so it is necessary to regularly check and keep the battery vent hole unobstructed.
