What Should Be Noted When Using Agricultural Machinery During The Summer Harvest Season?

Precautions for Summer Harvest Season
To ensure the normal use of agricultural machinery in summer, we should also take the following maintenance measures:
1. Use summer engine oil and ensure that the oil level is slightly above the middle between the upper and lower markings on the oil dipstick. The selection of diesel engine oil is generally based on two indicators. The first is quality indicators, which are often marked with API grade. API is the abbreviation of the American Petroleum Institute. In the engine oil quality level indicators, C represents diesel engine oil, including CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CF, CF-4, CG-4, CH-4, CI-4, CJ-4, etc. The letter arranged further back indicates a higher oil quality level.
The second is viscosity index, which is often marked with SAE grade. SAE is the abbreviation of the American Society of Automotive Engineers. According to the viscosity grade of engine oil, diesel engine oil models are generally divided into three categories: single-grade engine oil for summer, single-grade engine oil for winter, and universal engine oil for all seasons. In summer, it is necessary to use single grade engine oil or all season universal engine oil. It is recommended to use all season universal oil to avoid changing the engine oil of diesel engines during winter and summer.
The viscosity grades of summer unipolar engine oil are: 20, 30, 40, 50, respectively. The higher the number, the higher the viscosity, and the higher the applicable maximum temperature;
The viscosity grades of the four season universal oil are 5W/20, 5W/30, 5W/40, 5W/50, 10W/20, 10W/30, 10W/40, 10W/50, 15W/20, 15W/30, 15W/40, 15W/50, 20W/20, 20W/30, 20W/40, and 20W/50, respectively. The smaller the number representing the winter part, the higher the number representing the summer part, and the higher the viscosity and the wider the applicable temperature range.

2. Choose a reputable gas station to refuel. During the operation of the harvester, it is strictly prohibited to add diesel in the ground. It is necessary to avoid refueling outside the gas station as much as possible. If necessary, attention should be paid to preventing dust, moisture, and other substances from mixing with the fuel, otherwise it may cause the diesel engine to malfunction. Due to the high temperature in summer, higher grade diesel can be used to save costs. Diesel engines are sensitive to the levels in diesel fuel. It is necessary to inspect the oil-water separator and promptly remove any accumulated water to prevent excessive water from affecting the normal operation of the diesel engine.
3. In summer, when the external temperature is high, the heat dissipation effect of the engine deteriorates. In addition, the working environment of the wheat machine is harsh, and the water tank is prone to blockage, which can cause high temperatures in the water tank. When the engine water temperature exceeds 95 ℃ or the boiler is turned on, it is necessary to immediately stop and check. But when the engine water temperature is 95 ℃ or below, it is considered normal temperature and can be used with confidence!
The so-called high temperature of the engine generally refers to the situation where the water temperature exceeds 95 ℃ during engine use. Temperatures below 95 ℃ are considered normal and can be used with confidence without special treatment. According to the working principle of the engine, under non high temperature conditions, the higher the engine water temperature, the better. The higher the water temperature, the higher the engine thermal efficiency and energy. However, engine water temperature of 95 ℃ or below is considered normal temperature. Diesel engines generally have high temperature protection function. When high temperature occurs during use, the ECU of the diesel engine will detect a high temperature signal, which will automatically trigger the high temperature protection function of the diesel engine. The ECU will issue commands to cause the diesel engine to automatically experience a decrease in power, speed, or inability to add oil. At this time, the engine will not be able to work normally. The temperature value of the engine high temperature in the ECU data of agricultural diesel engines is generally set at around 102 ℃, and there are also settings at 98 ℃ and 105 ℃. The reason why the set temperature for high temperature values in diesel engines exceeds 100 ℃ is twofold: firstly, the antifreeze added to the water tank has anti freezing and anti boiling functions, and the boiling points of the antifreeze all exceed 100 ℃. Secondly, the cooling method of wheat engines is forced circulation, and the water tanks are sealed. There is a certain pressure in the water tank, and the boiling point of water under pressure also exceeds 100 ℃. In theory, as long as the engine is not turned on or does not form air resistance in the water channel that affects the circulation and cooling of the coolant, the engine can work normally.

4. In summer, the external temperature is high, and if the tire is inflated too much, it is easy to cause a tire blowout. Therefore, when inflating the tire in summer, it should be about 5% lower than in winter.
5. High external temperatures in summer can easily cause elongation of agricultural machinery belts. It is necessary to check and tighten them in a timely manner to avoid slipping caused by a decrease in tension, resulting in low generator voltage and belt damage.
6. Regularly lubricate. In summer, when the external temperature is high, the lubricating oil in the bearings, chains, and other connecting or transmission parts of agricultural machinery is prone to volatilization. It should be checked and replenished in a timely manner to avoid wear caused by poor lubrication.
7. Pay attention to safety, use and store reasonably. One is to pay attention to fire prevention. When harvesting wheat, not only is the temperature high, but the wheat straw is also dry. It is necessary to clean the grass debris around the exhaust pipe in a timely manner to prevent the high temperature of the exhaust pipe from igniting the grass debris; Secondly, due to the high temperature in summer, it is best to stagger the time when working in farmland. For example, arrange before 11am and after 3pm, and try to avoid going out for work during the hottest midday; Thirdly, try to avoid overloading agricultural machinery during agricultural operations; Fourthly, it is best to park agricultural machinery in a garage or carport, and it is best to cover it with plastic cloth when parking outdoors.
The above is all the sharing for today. I hope it can be helpful to everyone. Welcome everyone to leave comments and suggestions~
