Tips For Using Winter Tractors

Nov 26, 2024

Strictly follow the technical requirements for winter maintenance and promptly troubleshoot any issues.

01 Adjust oil specifications
The engine oil grade is determined according to the local temperature: if the lowest temperature is between 0 and -5 ℃, -10 diesel is selected; The minimum temperature is between -10 and -15 ℃, and -20 diesel is selected; The minimum temperature shall not be lower than -30 ℃, and -35 diesel shall be used; For high cold areas with a minimum temperature of around -40 ℃, use -50 diesel.

02 Tire pressure
The tire pressure in winter should be about 5% higher than that in summer to reduce rolling during driving.

03 Preheating Start
Before starting in winter, increase the engine temperature with hot water at around 80 ℃ and turn on the drain switch. When the hot water at around 40 ℃ flows out, add boiling water for starting; When the temperature is particularly cold, drain the engine oil after stopping the machine, and heat it to 40-50 ℃ before adding it to the oil pan before starting; It is strictly prohibited to start the car using incorrect methods such as ignition, dragging, sloping, open flame baking, adding water after starting the car, and adjusting the fuel injection pressure; After starting, rotate at a medium speed for 15 minutes until the water temperature reaches above 40 ℃ before starting. Only when the water temperature reaches 60 ℃ can the load operation be carried out.

04 Strengthen anti freezing measures
In winter, manual insulation work should be carried out on tractors, such as installing insulation curtains or loosening fan belts appropriately to reduce fan speed; Boiling water utensils, anti-skid chains, etc. should be fully prepared, and an engine equipped with a winter summer switch should be turned to the "winter" position.

05 Pay attention to draining water
Tractors without antifreeze should be drained of cooling water when parked at night at temperatures of 0 ℃ or below; But wait until the water temperature drops below 60 ℃ when the water temperature is high before draining, otherwise it is easy to cause stress deformation and damage to basic components such as the engine body or cylinder head; At the same time, do not leave people when draining water to prevent the drain valve from being blocked by impurities.
