How To Prevent Freezing Of Tractors in Winter
Dec 09, 2024
In winter, the temperature is relatively low, and most areas are colder. The fluidity of diesel and engine oil gradually deteriorates, and the cold resistance of the water tank decreases. In addition, in some areas, snow and slippery roads bring a lot of inconvenience to the use and maintenance of tractors. So what are the correct anti freezing techniques for tractors in winter?
01.Before entering winter, it is necessary to clean, adjust, and lubricate all parts of the tractor. Excessive or insufficient valve clearance, insufficient fuel injection pressure, and delayed fuel supply can all cause difficulty in starting the engine. In addition, it is necessary to adjust the clutch, brake, and control mechanism to ensure that the tractor is in good technical condition and lay a good foundation for winter.
02. Replace lubricating oil in a timely manner. In winter, due to lower temperatures, the viscosity of the engine oil increases, the fluidity deteriorates, and the starting resistance increases, which makes it difficult to start and lubricate. Therefore, it is necessary to change the engine oil used in summer to that used in winter in a timely manner. The gear oil in the gearbox and rear axle also needs to be replaced.
03. Proper preheating in severe cold seasons, tractors often have difficulty starting, therefore, preheating is necessary before starting. Firstly, preheat the machine with hot water at around 80-90 ℃. Do not use too hot water for the first time to avoid the body, cylinder head, and other parts being suddenly exposed to high temperatures and exploding. When adding water, turn on the drain switch and use the method of heating the water while draining until warm water flows out of the machine's drain valve. Close the drain valve and fill it with boiling water. When the temperature is particularly cold, it is also necessary to preheat the engine oil. Put the engine oil released from the oil pan during parking into a container, heat it with hot water, and then inject it into the oil pan. Shake the crankshaft dozens of times to lubricate all parts before starting. It is strictly prohibited to use open flames to bake the engine.
04.The correct use of fuel for tractors is mostly diesel, which can generally be divided into several grades such as 20, 10, 0, -10, -20, -35, etc. The number represents the temperature of the solidification point, for example: diesel fuel with the number 10 has a solidification point of 10 ℃ The freezing point of diesel on the 10th is -10 ℃. When choosing diesel in winter, it should be determined according to the local temperature conditions. Generally, diesel with a freezing point 5-10 ℃ lower than the local temperature is selected. If the local temperature is -5 ℃, -10 diesel can be used; When the temperature is between -5 and -10 ℃, -20 diesel can be used.
05. Starting correctly without preheating with hot water or starting without cooling water may cause a sudden increase in the temperature of the piston and cylinder liner, which may strain the cylinder liner. It may also cause the cylinder liner to crack after adding cold water. Using a tractor to tow or slope to start is incorrect and should be avoided. After starting, do not immediately put it into operation. Instead, run it at low speed for a period of time to warm up the engine and wait for the water temperature to reach 40 ℃
